The Chair of Antennas and High-Frequency System Integration was founded in February 2023 and is headed by Professor Ivan Ndip. It is part of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Science (Faculty 1) of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

We teach and conduct fundamental research in the field of high-frequency engineering.

The focus of our research is on the development and implementation of new methods for efficient high-frequency modeling, measurement-based characterization and optimization of antennas and waveguides, RF packaging and heterogeneous system integration technologies as well as RF front-end modules up to terahertz frequencies, taking into account the impact of manufacturing technologies and processes. Furthermore, we study the root causes of signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues in these RF packaging and heterogeneous system integration technologies, waveguides and RF front-end modules with integrated antennas. We then develop methods and measures to prevent/minimize these SI, PI and EMC issues. This yields RF packages, components and modules with significantly improved performance.

Our goal is to contribute innovative solutions for the development of future high-frequency systems, especially for mobile (e.g. 6G), satellite and space communication, radar and proximity sensing as well as for high performance computing (HPC) and artificial intelligence (AI). We work closely with industry and applied research institutes, especially Fraunhofer IZM.

Our Chair is currently looking for highly motivated Postdocs, PhD students and Student Research Assistants to join our team. Please contact Professor Ndip if you are interested.
