The conceptual design and development of distributed systems, for example in the fields of smart home, industry 4.0, agriculture 4.0, medicine 4.0 and autonomous driving, is highly complex and very difficult. These systems have certain system attributes, some of which are highly interdependent and cannot be modeled independently.
The department of Wireless Systems deals with the modeling of these dependencies, which are for example the following: reliability and security, reliability and power consumption as well as reliability and security and power consumption. The modeling of these dependencies concerns single systems as well as networked devices, i.e. systems of systems.
The goal is to gain a deeper and more profound understanding of these dependencies in order to be able to model these dependencies appropriately. With the help of these models suitable design tools for such systems can be developed.
