Drones – How the Lusatia Region Aims to Become a Leading Test Center

The Lusatia region offers excellent conditions for the research and testing of unmanned aerial systems and is increasingly emerging as an important location for drone technologies in Germany. Large, sparsely populated areas combined with existing infrastructure enable testing under realistic conditions and open up new perspectives for scientific and technological development.

Key research topics include the integration of drones into airspace, autonomous systems, reliable wireless communication, and networked applications in areas such as logistics, industrial use, and civilian operations. Close cooperation between universities, research institutions, industry, and public stakeholders supports the scientific сопровождение (scientific support) of regional structural change and actively contributes to shaping the future of the Lusatia region.
