Damptey, Frederick Gyasi is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Ecology, Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus - Senftenberg. Damptey’s research interests lie in the field of Forest science, soil ecology and arthropods recolonization in forests, arable and post-mining areas. He is particularly interested in ecosystem processes and patterns in altered landscapes. Damptey is currently researching on “The effects of forest restoration on ecosystem attributes in a post-mining area in Ghana” with the aim of assessing the effectiveness of management treatments that targeted restoration of vital ecosystem attributes in a post-mining area with reference to surrounding dominated land-use types. Damptey holds M.Sc in Environmental Management from the Christian Albrecht’s University of Kiel - Germany, Bsc and Diploma in Natural Resource Management with specialization in Silviculture and Forest Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi –Ghana.
