letter of recommendation
Students need letters of recommendation for a variety of reasons, most commonly for scholarships or stays abroad. We are happy to support you with applications for scholarships.
However, in order to write a letter of recommendation for you, at least one member of the chair's staff must be convinced that we can recommend you professionally. So before you approach a member of the chair's staff with a request for a letter of recommendation, please check the following points:
- You have had at least one intensive discussion or several discussions with a member of staff about subject-related questions as part of a module at the chair (e.g. as part of a course, asking questions in tutorials or through consultations for projects).
- You have successfully passed at least one exam in a module at the chair.
Together with your request for a letter of recommendation, please send us the following information:
- Institution to which the letter of recommendation should be addressed
- A specific description of the purpose of the letter of recommendation, for example, a description of what (e.g. studies, subject, projects) is intended to be done abroad (which country) and what positive effects are expected
- Curriculum vitae
- current transcript of records from the B-TU
- a short description of how members of the chair might know you and why this chair is suitable to write you a letter of recommendation (see above for the points from the previous check).
