The article by Lukas Fitz proposes design principles to accommodate specific needs of small and medium-sized complementor enterprises as part of dominant digital platform ecosystems. The proposal is based on abductive reasoning by reflecting on expert inputs and prevalent design features of platform artifacts from literature.
The specialised mini-track ‘AI-enabled Digital Transformation for SMEs’ will be held for the first time as part of the 60th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-60) in January 2027, under international leadership including researchers at the BTU.
In March 2026, the department will be represented by doctoral student Jonas Betz at the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) ‘Discovering Research in a European Context’ in France.
