With an introductory and informational event, the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg guest student program Knowledge for All will start the summer semester 2022 on Monday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For all interested parties and newcomers, there will be a program overview in the virtual lecture hall and questions will be answered.

The guest lecture program Open University - KNOWLEDGE FOR ALL with the SeniorAcademy and the public lecture series Open BTU are fixed components of the intergenerational campus of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

With a broad spectrum of subjects and different teaching and learning formats from the educational program "Knowledge for All", participants can shape their personal learning paths according to their inclinations. Cultural partnerships with important institutions in the region and exciting excursions as well as the Online Ring Lecture of the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung für Ältere (Federal Association for Scientific Continuing Education for the Elderly) extend the range of courses on offer. In the open courses from the regular program, guest students can attend lectures together with BTU students out of professional or personal interest. Whenever possible, the courses take place at the BTU locations and are also partially accessible online.

The program includes courses designed to make it easier for new students to start or return to learning - from a writing workshop with author Franziska Steinhauer to a library rally for literature searches to digital participation in video conferencing systems. Other seminars, courses, workshops and the popular project groups are devoted to literature and theater, as well as topics such as "freedom, equality and non-violence" and conspiracy theories. Physical and mental fitness in old age, the use of smartphones and tablets, and 3D printing are also addressed. The homepage project group, which has been established for many years, will be reorganized in the summer semester and is looking for committed people who want to contribute both editorially and technically. In the new category Citizen Science, the program is deepening public discourse with scientific discourse. Topics in the summer semester include "Healthy and Social Habitats of the Future" and "Enabling Successful Living."

Language courses, the extensive offerings of the university library at three BTU locations in Cottbus and Senftenberg, and the courses from the university's diverse sports program also make for appeal.

The offers of the guest student program Open University - KNOWLEDGE FOR ALL under the leadership of the Center for Academic Continuing Education present the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg as a reliable partner for lifelong learning. Thus, the guest student program enables all interested people to further their education in individual fields of knowledge at the university. Participants study without exams or pressure to perform. There are no age restrictions or admission requirements. In addition to imparting knowledge, the BTU attaches great importance to creating opportunities for social exchange and opening up spaces for ideas.
