Individual Doctorate
At the beginning of your doctoral project, you will need to select a dissertation topic and find one or more supervisors to support you throughout your studies in terms of subject matter, methodology and organisation. Ideally, the search for a supervisor and a topic should go hand in hand.
If you are pursuing a doctoral degree in an application-oriented chair, it may be necessary to consult a second university professor from a relevant chair as an additional supervisor. Please enquire about this with your chosen supervisor or the relevant faculty.

In order to apply for admission as a doctoral candidate at the faculty, you will require confirmation of supervision from a university professor authorised to supervise doctoral candidates. The confirmation of supervision specifically documents the supervisor's agreement with the topic of the doctoral thesis and their willingness to supervise the project.
It is your responsibility to find your own supervisor. Please use the faculty websites to search for suitable chairs and contact potential supervisors.
