It was an incredible eventful, intense time that was just good for me and gave me new strength. I saw so many familiar places and so many stories came up for me. Therefore, it felt like a trip home for me. In addition, I traveled with an open and warm group. We laughed a lot, made a lot of jokes and had a great time together for which I am very grateful. I am equally grateful to be a part of the German-Romanian study program. This year abroad gave me so many things I never thought I would 2 years ago.

In a motley group of social work students from different semesters, we traveled to Romania between 11/23/2022 and 11/26/2022. We visited social work institutions in Timisoara and Bucharest and gained new insights into Romanian practice. We were able to learn more background information about the system and the financing of social institutions at the Directorate for Social Work in Timisoara. During a visit to the West University in Timisoara, we also introduced the German-Romanian study program to the Romanian students from the first semester. After an exciting ride on the night train to Bucharest, we were invited to a brunch and an interesting talk with a representative of the German embassy at the end. It was an exciting and educational time with lots of fun and delicious food.
