Learning Outcome:At the end of the course students should be able to:

- Understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization.

- Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.

- Produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Contents:Action-oriented tasks for global, selective and detailed listening and reading comprehension, for the production of topic- and situation-related written texts, for topic- and situation-related oral expression as well as exercises for understanding and consolidating linguistic structures (vocabulary and grammar). Furthermore, learning strategies and techniques for self-study are imparted and trained.

Recommended Prerequisites:English proficiency at the CEFR B1 level.

Remarks:
  • This modul especially aims at students in all study programs, who aspire a semester abroad, or exchange students with an English language competence at level CEFR B1. It is not suitable for students with a lower or level of language competence

  • In exceptional cases, the face-to-face course can be held as an online live session.
