Learning Outcome:After successfully completing the module, students will have in-depth knowledge of how retrieval systems work for searching multimedia databases and will be able to apply them practically.
Contents:Introduction and terms, principles of information retrieval, multimedia information retrieval, feature transformation, distance functions, search algorithms, index structures, query languages.

Acquired knowledge will be applied within a project.
