Learning Outcome:After completing the module, students will have reflected on their values, goals, expectations and predispositions and have learned additional self-management skills. They will have an overview over different methods of learning the German language (offline, online, self-learning tools). They have tested their German language skills and at least one method of aquiring additional German language skills. They will have learned to monitor their own language learning. They will have expanded their understanding of diversity and will have participated in an exchange with German students which will deepen the understanding of the region they are living in.
Contents:
  • Coaching: Self reflection of goals and cultural predispositions in a group setting
  • Aquiring self mangement skills
  • Overview over German language courses and self learning tools
  • Researching AI based language learning, presenting the results during the seminar
  • Testing at least one method of learning the German language (at least 2 hours a week)
  • Writing learning diaries
  • Assessment of German language skills
  • Exploring Cottbus together with German Bachelor students
  • In case students already have B1 level of German language: introduction and practice of tandem learning with a German student
Recommended Prerequisites:This module is for students, who are non-native German speekers

  • Self organised studies / 120 Hours

  • German as a foreign language resources depending on the current language level
additional materials will be presented in the moodle course

  • written paper (10 pages + learning diary)

Remarks:This module includes meeting German students  and getting to know Cottbus,
every international master student wellcome, 
best for students of artifical intelligence or cyber security (master program)
