Before Entry
We are very excited that you have decided to come to BTU! Whether you are staying for a short research stay, a complete doctoral programme, an exchange study as part of your doctorate, or as a guest lecturer, newly appointed professor or scientific employee with an employment contract, we look forward to working with you! The Welcome Centre would like to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible so that you can fully concentrate on your research and teaching.
Therefore, we recommend that you register online with the Welcome Centre as soon as possible so that we can provide you with the most comprehensive and effective support possible.
It is only natural that the Welcome Centre believes BTU’s welcoming and friendly culture should not simply begin when you arrive, but upon first contact. For that reason, we are happy to answer any individual questions you might have, even if you are still abroad. Unfortunately, there is a bit of paperwork you must complete before your arrival. The following pages offer some practical information about all matters pertaining to your arrival and entry into Germany.
A few months before your arrival, you should already begin to look into the requirements for the following matters:
- Employment contract or scholarship
- Visa
- Health insurance
- Accommodation
- Driving licence
