Religion

Under Article 4 of the German Basic Law, all persons are guaranteed freedom of belief. Because of this, all persons in Germany are free to choose and practice their own religion. Of course, this also means that you are allowed to leave a church, change your faith, or not belong to any religious community at all.

Cottbus and Senftenberg both have a large number of churches and other religious communities. Churches in Germany are significant architectural monuments from different epochs and cultural centres. In addition to church services, they hold other events such as organ concerts, choir and chamber music, as well as other exhibitions and social events.
