5G-Testbed-BB

Project description

The goal of this project is the development and testing of 5G applications in the form of testbeds to provide both SMEs and the public sector with practically relevant and innovative concepts and usage scenarios, so called “use case bundles”. For this, new network technologies are being used which fit the needs of the mentioned target audiences and can lead to an increase in innovation in the Brandenburg federal state.

At the chair of automation technology, the following three use cases are being implemented:

  • AI-based digital assistance system with data gloves
  • Roboter operation through gesture recognition
  • Integration of autonomous transport roboters into an assembly line

EDIH pro_Digital

Projektbeschreibung

Our goals

The main objective of EDIH pro_digital is to promote the "twin digital and green transformation" of start-ups, SMEs, mid-caps and public administration in Brandenburg. By using digital technologies, they can adopt innovative techniques, achieve greater sustainability and reduce resource consumption and CO2 emissions.

With a clear link to the EU's Industry 5.0 strategy, we offer a wide range of digital technologies to increase the digital maturity of regional actors in the field of double digital and green growth along the People-Planet-Prosperity nexus. We want to support our target group to become more resilient, sustainable, circular, regenerative and green. In this way, we at pro_digital also want to contribute to Brandenburg's successful structural change and strengthen the development of a strong and integrated regional innovation ecosystem.

The project region is the federal state of Brandenburg. Companies and public administrations in the state of Brandenburg can take advantage of pro_digital's free services.

Our services

With a team of 30 transfer experts, pro_digital offers knowledge, practical expertise and access to various digital technologies and applications. Our portfolio includes services in the areas of digital skills development and information security, AI applications, financial advice and innovation strategies. We deliver these through training courses, testbeds for testing technologies in real-world environments (‘Modellhalle’), and public and private funding opportunities for digital transformation.

  1. access to training and retraining services for the regional workforce
  2. access to test-before-investment services, facilities and expertise
  3. access to information on public and private funding for digitalization.

In addition, pro_digital works with specific associated EDIHs in the Baltic Sea region and neighboring countries, as well as with actors in Brandenburg providing knowledge and access to expertise and ecosystems in other European regions. pro_digital also focus on strengthening the central role of start-ups as facilitators and actors of digital transformation in the region.

Fortune - Predictive Maintenance

Project description

The Chair of Automation Technology is involved in the research project Innovation Campus Electronics and Microsensors Cottbus in the work package FORTUNE and 5G Connect.

The goal of the FORTUNE project is to improve maintenance cycles through Predictive Maintenance (PdM). Many assets with a long remaining life can be retrofitted to gain PdM capabilities, making it an accessible and cost-effective sustainability strategy for existing infrastructure and machinery. To implement AI-based PDM maintenance optimization for such systems, effective data acquisition, AI-deployment, and evaluation methods are essential. The ForTune Project strives to facilitate retrofitting by offering the necessary hardware and software for PdM deployment, as a toolbox.
