The task of the master's thesis consists of the design of a spaceport with the functions for a control center as well as the accommodation of guest facilities, a visitor center and a rocket hall. The facility is located on the island of Helgoland and overlooks several launching platforms in the North Sea.
The building should be a base for space flights in Germany. With the development of reusable rocket parts and fully automatic landings at mobile platforms floating in the sea, rocket launches started to be interesting for German companies.
From the spaceport microlauncher will start their flight to the near orbit of the earth. Due to its location on the island, the building is in an exposed position and the uniqueness of its function must be expressed through its architecture.
