The department successfully applied for funding from Zukunft Bau. The research project “Real-Time Building Component Inventory (EBI)” began in September 2024 and will conclude in September 2026 with an exhibition at the Futurium in Berlin. here.

The DFG is funding international cooperation with the University of Tokyo and the Yasushi Ikeda Laboratory. Upcoming are workshops in Tokyo and Cottbus on the topic of "Development of robot-assisted adaptive bionically inspired architectural systems".

The field of research of the departments deals mainly with topics of digital design and production in architecture. In addition, in cooperation with international partners, the department participates in urban development research topics in the field of urban transformations and digital planning tools. Another field is the study of didactic methods in teaching programming skills for architects.
