Together with the Work Science / Work Psychology research group of Faculty 3, we will carry out the DFG-funded project “Construction and Humanoid Robots: An Ergonomic Study of Virtual Substitution Compared to Real-World Coexistence (BauAwi-HR).”

The department has successfully applied to Zukunft Bau for continued funding of the ongoing EBI project. The research project “Real-Time Existing Building Data (EBI 2)” will begin in November 2026. Information about the preceding project can be found here. In September 2026, EBI 1 will be presented at the Futurium in Berlin.

The DFG is funding international cooperation with the University of Tokyo and the Yasushi Ikeda Laboratory. Upcoming are workshops in Tokyo and Cottbus on the topic of "Development of robot-assisted adaptive bionically inspired architectural systems".

The field of research of the departments deals mainly with topics of digital design and production in architecture. In addition, in cooperation with international partners, the department participates in urban development research topics in the field of urban transformations and digital planning tools. Another field is the study of didactic methods in teaching programming skills for architects.
