I am a political economist focusing on topics such as fiscal rules, the theory of the bureaucracy and phenomena like patronage, clientelism and corruption. My dissertation deals with the question whether constitutional fiscal rules can guarantee a sustainable fiscal policy and to what extent stable public finances also depend on an informal culture of fiscal stability.
