Children's university around the theme of photography

"Painting with Light - from Hobby Photography to Marvel Blockbusters" is the title of the current Children's University Lecture at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) on November 10 and 12, 2022.

Academic staff members Daniela Schob and Philipp Maasch take the children on a journey through the history of photography in their lucid lecture. While years ago a darkroom was absolutely necessary to develop images, photography was revolutionized with the introduction of the digital camera. There are no limits to creativity in the interaction of focus, aperture and focal length. Nowadays, it's possible to take stunning pictures even with a smartphone. But not everything that photos show is real. Among other things, the lecture proves how viewers are fooled with deceptively real-looking worlds.

Pupils from the third to sixth grades are invited to attend the Children's University lecture "Painting with Light - from Hobby Photography to Marvel Blockbuster". The 45-minute event begins in Cottbus on Thursday, November 10, at 3 and 5:15 p.m. in theCentral Lecture Hall Building, Audimax 2. Registration is not required.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., thislecture will begin at the Senftenberg campusin the Konrad Zuse Media Center . The lecture will be broadcast live online for anyone interested who cannot attend, for example, due to a long journey. Registrations under the e-mail address kinderuni(at)b-tu.deare urgently required. The link to the lecture will be sent after registration.
