Management for the Lusatia Science Park

Since March 2023, Ariane Derks has been the managing director of the "Lusatia Science Park" (LSP) project. In her position, she is responsible for setting up an operating company for the technology and innovation park, which is being created as one of the outstanding structural development projects under the auspices of the BTU in Cottbus.

Expert opinion for climate plan presented

IÖW and BTU scientist Prof. Bernd Hirschl has handed over the expert report on the Brandenburg Climate Plan to Climate Protection Minister Axel Vogel. The almost 500-page report contains recommendations for a Brandenburg climate protection strategy and proposed measures for the state's climate plan.

The BTU has explicitly set itself the goal of further increasing the proportion of women in the entire field of science. Equality of all genders, equal opportunities and family orientation therefore form important cross-sectional tasks and basic principles at our university.

Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck: 28.5 million euros for reference power Lausitz (RefLau)

On February 22, 2023, Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, presented Referenzkraftwerk Lausitz GmbH (RefLau) and the research consortium consisting of the Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Energy IEG, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and TU Dresden at the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park with a notice of grant of 28.5 million euros.

European University launches "Massive Open Online Course

The EUNICE universities, which include BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, have developed a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) that covers a variety of topics from a global perspective. Until May 31, anyone and everyone interested can participate via the EUNICE website; for some BTU degree programs, the course can be selected as an elective module.
