11385 - Electromechanical Systems Modulübersicht

Module Number: 11385 - Phase-out Module
Module Title:Electromechanical Systems
  Elektromechanische Systeme
Department: Faculty 1 - Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
Responsible Staff Member:
  • Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Mussenbrock, Thomas
Language of Teaching / Examination:English
Duration:1 semester
Frequency of Offer: On special announcement
Credits: 6
Learning Outcome:Development of a fundamental understanding for electromechanical interactions and systems and their underlying physical concepts. Students learn and explore the mathematical and physical basics to describe and model electromechanical systems.
Contents:The class comprises all basic ideas of electromechanical systems, including the description of mechanical and acoustical systems via electromechanical networks. The main topics are:
  • Fundamentals of electrical and magnetical interaction,
  • electrostatic and piezoelectric transducer,
  • electromagnetic-, electrodynamic-, and piezomagnetic transducer.
For selected electromechanic systems, the design process, the fabrication techniques including microfabrication, modelling via finite element analysis, and characterization will be discussed in detail. Standard engineering software tools (e.g. Matlab, SPICE, Mathematica, ANSYS, LabView) will be used to explore various examples and applications of electromechanical systems.
Recommended Prerequisites:Knowledge of modules:
  • 33102 Elektrotechnik I: Gleichstromtechnik und Felder
  • 33103 Elektrotechnik II: Wechselstromtechnik
  • 31102 Technische Mechanik 1: Statik und Festigkeitslehre
  • 31105 Technische Mechanik 2: Dynamik
Mandatory Prerequisites:none
