Learning Outcome:At the end of the module the participant can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type, e. g. in a shop or restaurant. He/she can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer basic questions about personal details such as where he/she lives and things he/she has. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

  • Listening comprehension, dialogues, reading comprehension, production of short texts
Grammatical aspects:
  • Verbs (perfect: regular and irregular), verbs with prefixes (separable / inseparable), various verb conjugations (imperative, future, preterite)
  • Modal verbs (must, want, may); modal verbs in preterite
  • Conjunctions (and, or, then, but)
  • Declination (nouns, pronouns)
  • Stating position and direction (two way prepositions)
  • Adjectives: comparative
