Learning Outcome: | The students acquire knowledge of basics of power generation from bio fuels and operation of plants for thermal use of biomass. Thus, students are able to perform location-specific studies and have the posibility to visit the facilities designed to generate energy from bio fuels. |
Contents: | Properties, emissions and greenhouse gas reduction potential of biofuels, theory of energy conversion of the various conversion processes, thermal (pyrolysis / gasification) and biological (fermentation) processing into gaseous fuels, combustion technologies for solid biomass (wood, straw), vegetable oil used in internal combustion engines (CHP) system concepts , design and calculation methods, practical knowledge through demonstration of power generation from bio fuels. |
