Learning Outcome:After completion of this module, students will have a solid understanding of Climate Change and its impacts, especially on vulnerable countries. Students will further have the knowledge about various concepts and logical arguments linking climate change and migration.
Contents:Part "Climate Change"
  • Observations of change in the climate system
  • Critically assess the role of human activities in modern climate change
  • Assess future climate change scenarios and their potential impact on the Earth
  • climate change agenda and how this agenda impact on policy
  • Identify the Impacts and related Adaptation masures

Part "Migration"
  • The potential link between climate change, migration,
  • The Task of defining 'climate refugee'
  • climate change contribution to the refugee problems
  • Gaps in the international legal framework
  • Individual and Collective Action on Mitigation

Lectures will be given live online and afterwards uploaded as a PDF on the moodle
For the exercise, students have to solve a given problem. Students have to select a topic on moodle and register in the given table (maximum of 4 students per group).

Module Examination:Continuous Assessment (MCA)
Assessment Mode for Module Examination:
  • Oral Exam, 30 min. (50%)
  • Two presentations on the a scientific topic (each 25%)
A pass mark is only achieved by obtaining at least 50% of the grade for each part of the module.
The examination as well as the seminar part have to be passed (at least 50% in each) to pass the module.
