Learning Outcome:After successfully completing the module, students have gained a broader understanding of quantum theory. Analysing concrete examples, the module provided methods of gaining knowledge, establishing a methodology, theory development, classification of physical findings etc.. Furthermore, the student's social skills such as the ability to cooperate and other individual skills such as diligence, perseverance, curiosity, initiative, etc. have been supported.
Contents:
  • Concept of states, pure states, mixed states, density matrix, coherent states
  • Functional integral formulation of quantum theory
  • Information, teleportation, quantum information
Recommended Prerequisites:
  • Knowledge of quantum mechanics in the frame of bachelor studies.
