Learning Outcome: | The module trains basic knowledge regarding measurement techniques for tree parameters and it offers an overview of the varying relationships between climate and tree growth on different temporal levels from annual data (tree-rings) to 30min measurements (Dendrometer). In context with data of photosynthesis measurements, gas exchange measurements from the surface to the atmosphere and other climate data the students get the competence to comprehend and evaluate basic questions and problems how climate change and climatic extremes influence forest ecosystems. |
Contents: | In the lecture measurement techniques and the analysis of the measured data in forests are addressed, such as:
The exercise consists of two parts: Part 1: Excercises Analysis of tree and climatic data e.g. and in situ measurements Part 2: Field campaign Appling of measurements in the field, installation of different monitoring devices. |
