Learning Outcome:At the end of the module the student are able to analyse historical buildings, fabrics and constructions and to apply relevant basic methods of documentation.
Contents:
The lecture on „Building Archaeology“ explains the concept of „Bauforschung“ (translated as `building archaeology´) as basic approach to the assessment of qualified culturally significant built fabric (architecture) and demonstrates the interdependencies of Heritage Management, research and preservation when dealing with a relevant category of tangible heritage.
Introduction to relevant documentation methods e.g. `Raumbuch´; Practical exercise.
