Learning Outcome:After successful completion, students have in-depth knowledge of various transformation dynamics and forms. They are experienced in discussing and reflecting on various analytical and evaluation concepts of transformation dynamics. They can classify various theoretical and methodological approaches in the present day and discuss them in light of relevant evaluation criteria that apply to transformations in the face of pressing crises such as climate catastrophe, biodiversity loss or land overuse. They are also able to understand the complexity of the design challenges of a transformation on a global scale and to analyze the various roles, e.g. of the state or niche actors. They can apply conceptual perspectives such as the multi-level perspective, the ecosystem approach or evolutionary innovation theory.
Contents:The Fit4Future Summer School series provide a dynamic learning environment where students engage with challenges of tomorrow. Every year the thematic focus shifts towards current transition dynamics and transformaton processes. The Summer School provides a mix of online lecture and offline exercises, with a full-week course during September every year.

  • Digitalisation and Sustainability
  • Globalisation and Global Studies
  • De- and Prostgrowth
Throughout the programme, participants will engage with the various aspects of the chosen topic, explore the role of different transformation paradigms and assess the transformative power of different pathways towards sustainable future in an interdisciplinary setting.Renowned international experts will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments through lectures, workshops and field trips, creating a dynamic learning environment that encourages critical thinking and collaborative problem-solving.
