Learning Outcome:After completion of this module, students are able to identify and differentiate central areas, approaches, concepts and methods within the interdisciplinary field of World Heritage Studies. They have critical reading skills, know a number of key concepts to Heritage Studies and how to link conceptual ideas to current phenomena in the field of World Heritage. In addition, the students are able to apply knowledge about standards in scientific techniques and presentation skills.
Contents:

The first part of the module gives an overview over the key areas and disciplines of the World Heritage Studies Program. The second part provides basic knowledge about key interdisciplinary approaches, concepts and skills within the field of World Heritage Studies.

  • Seminar / 4 Hours per Week per Semester
  • Self organised studies / 120 Hours
Teaching Materials and Literature:Students will be provided with weekly meetings and lectures, reading materials, and bibliographical references.
All materials and literature will be provided in a moodle course.
Module Examination:Continuous Assessment (MCA)
Assessment Mode for Module Examination:
  • presentation of a concept, 10 min., + handout (30 % of the grade)
  • final essay, 5000 words + references (70 % of the grade)
Evaluation of Module Examination:Performance Verification – graded
