Review of the 18th Cottbus lightweight construction workshop

On March 14 and 15, the tradition of the Cottbus lightweight construction workshop was revived at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg - with complete success! Under the direction of the Institute for Lightweight Construction and Value Creation Management (ILW) and the SpreeTec neXt cluster project, people interested in lightweight construction came together at starting block B2.

The 18th Cottbus Lightweight Construction Workshop at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg was a complete success!

The participants experienced a first day full of fascinating perspectives on current developments in lightweight construction. The guided tours through our technology halls and the subsequent lectures offered deep insights into innovative lightweight construction materials and their areas of application.
The words of welcome from high-ranking personalities such as the President of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg - Gesine Grande and State Secretary Tobias Dünow from the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg were inspiring.
In a pleasant atmosphere with live music and snacks, the participants were able to make valuable contacts and exchange ideas with experts.

The second day continued with high-caliber contributions and discussions that opened up new perspectives on the trends and challenges of lightweight construction. The panel discussion on new materials, production technologies and construction methods for decentralized energy technology rounded off the event.

A big thank you to all the officers, exhibitors and participants for their dedicated participation and valuable contributions.

We would also like to thank Wirtschaftsregion Lausitz GmbH for supporting the organization as well as our partners IHK Cottbus and Wirtschaftsförderung Land Brandenburg GmbH with their Metal Cluster and Plastics and Chemistry Cluster.

May our joint commitment pave the way for an even more efficient, resource-conserving and forward-looking world.
We look forward to seeing you again next year and to many more ground-breaking developments in the field of lightweight construction!
