In addition to 19 Master's degree programs, applications are also possible for the two Bachelor's degree programs in Economathematics and Digital Societies as well as for the Orientation Studies Programme College+ and the certificate program in Artistic Training for Instruments and Singing, as well as for the Ph.D. programs in Heritage Studies and Environmental and Resource Management with a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Applications as a university transfer student for a higher programme-related semester are accepted for the entire range of courses offered by BTU.

Prospective students with a German higher education entrance qualification can apply via the university's own myBTU portal, while prospective students with a foreign higher education entrance qualification can use the uni-assist employment and service center for their applications. This institution checks international applications for 150 universities in Germany.

BTU also offers its students a wide range of opportunities to go abroad during their studies, with various exchange programs and funding opportunities to choose from. Until February 1, 2024, it is possible to apply for a stay abroad at one of BTU's partner universities for the academic year 2024/25.
