Professional Title & Status
According to the Brandenburg Architects Act (BbgArchG) of 20 June 2024, only persons who are registered in the list of the respective discipline maintained by the Chamber of Architects of a federal state in Germany are allowed to use the professional titles of "architect," "interior architect," "landscape architect," and "urban planner." Access to the list of architects at the Brandenburg Chamber of Architects can, for example, be granted upon application to anyone who has successfully completed a course of study corresponding to the respective specialization, with a standard period of study of at least four years at a German university, university of applied sciences, or an equivalent educational institution.
The degree program "Urban Design and Sustainable Revitalization" intentionally does not aim to fulfill the requirements for the professional recognition of its graduates. If students wish to become members of a chamber after completing the program, they must independently clarify the specific requirements with the Chamber of Architects or Engineers.
