Have you cleared the first major hurdle and been invited to an interview? To increase your chances of getting the internship or job, you should follow a few basic rules and prepare for the interview.

You should always start by analysing the job advertisement and researching the company - if you have not already done so in advance of the written application.

It is also good to remember the following points:

• Prepare requested forms and documents
• Prepare questions
• Practise your self-presentation
• Think about which skills relating to the position you want to emphasise
• Prepare a suitable outfit (many companies indicate if they prefer a casual dress code. You can also look at the pictures of the staff on the company website)
• Notebook or paper and pen
• Reliable internet and suitable meeting background if necessary
