The doctoral theses at the Architectural Theory chair at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg cover a range of research topics spanning various fields of knowledge that are closely linked to issues in architectural theory, cultural history, the history of ideas and the history of architecture. Through various formats for academic exchange – short presentations, guest lectures, defences with external chairs, etc. – doctoral candidates regularly report on current research questions and topics within their work, exchange ideas with one another and receive feedback on both content and methodology. Jörg Böttger, Gerald Friedel, Jonathan Metzner and Insa Thiel-Kang are currently supervised in their doctoral theses.
