Based on a co-design approach, the project further develops the concept of the Circular Society in terms of content, program and strategy. Based on and expanding the "Circular Economy Roadmap for Germany", a "Circular Society Roadmap for Germany" embedded in global contexts and various social contexts is to be created. A core feature of co-design is transdisciplinary work. Transdisciplinary here means that the roadmap is designed and developed jointly in working groups made up of scientific, political, civil society and economic stakeholders - across different disciplines, sectors and hierarchies. As a result, the final roadmap should inform, inspire and support the scientific, civil society, economic and political sustainability landscape. The four transdisciplinary working groups each explore key topics of a circular society (circular citizens and communities, open source and open design, collaborative value creation, circular literacy). The (interim) results of the groups will be discussed and validated with a broad group of stakeholders at two Circular Society Forums. A Circular Society Roadmap will bundle the results of the working groups as the final outcome of the project. The results include a scientific paper with a research and innovation agenda for the transformation to a circular society, an open source platform with good practices, tools and knowledge modules for initiating circular society innovations and a policy paper with political recommendations for action.
