The Institute for Health at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg was founded in 2016. The aim of the institute is to establish academic education in the health professions as well as application- and basic-oriented health and vocational training research at the Senftenberg site. Social challenges – in particular demographic change – place enormous demands on healthcare professionals, to which we respond with our research and study programmes.
- Bachelor's degree programmes in Nursing Science and Therapy Sciences since 2013
- Master's degree programme in Vocational Education for Health Professions since 2015
- Bachelor's degree programme in Midwifery Science since 2021
- Previously, a dual degree programme in Physiotherapy had been offered since 2005.
Another master's programme in health research is in the planning process.
The Institute for Health stands for
- Basic and applied research in the respective specialist areas and at the Lausitz Centre for Digital Public Health

- Facilitation of internships abroad through international networking
