Health promotion and care in age-friendly communities
TOPIC
In rural regions, health and care provision is an increasing challenge. In the future, there will be more and more older people who require age-appropriate care structures, specific healthcare and nursing services. Brandenburg's rural communities have some of the highest growth rates in the number of older people in Germany as a whole. Life expectancy is increasing and with it the number of people in need of care.
Health promotion and early recognition of the need for care can contribute to maintaining independence for longer and preserving quality of life in old age. They are essential components of an age-friendly community.
In an online symposium, we would like to present and discuss with you the concrete possibilities for designing corresponding programmes. We have invited experts from the fields of gerontology and Nursing Science to report on their projects and research findings.
TARGET GROUP
The symposium is aimed at regional organisations in the healthcare sector.
