Anniversary: 10 years of Nursing Science at the Senftenberg site
We celebrate NURSING HISTORY. nursing history, reminiscent of roots with nursing in the past as"an art and a true nurse [as] is an artist." (Simpson 1914: 133) is perceived and described. On 16 November 2023, numerous carers and other healthcare stakeholders spoke out. At this point, the following let the tenor resound: It is a milestone for our location, which helps to characterise the fact that nurses are precisely not the:the"subordinate of the doctor in all official relationships" (Steppe 1990), but rather:"The task of nurses [is] to reflect on their professional practice, training and research activities." (Bobbert 2023: 700) A consequence of reflection (then - earlier - perspective): "You can't be a patient on a ward and - this happened to me myself - not get to see anyone for eight hours because there is simply no one else around" (Schnepp in Kolling 2022: 197).
The basis for caring for people of all ages and circumstances is teamwork, in which the "social perception of care as an independent profession (not as a helper or as a profession that anyone can practise)" (SVR 2023: 333) is recognised. After all, carers are "key[s] to healthier communities, responsive societies, thriving economies and powerful nations."(ICN 2023)
