Between November 6th and December 12th, the Research Training Group at Faculty 4 offers a symposium about qualitative research methodologies on four different dates.

Am 5.-10. November wird Cottbus zum Anlaufpunkt für Liebhaber des osteuropäischen Kinos. Dieses Jahr zeigt das Festival eine Spezialreihe zum Thema Fluchtbewegungen. Unter dem "Thema Migration im osteuropäischen Film" werden aktuelle Werke präsentiert, welche die Widersprüche und den Spagat zwischen Flucht, Angst und Reibung im Ankunftsland zeigen.

At the symposium entitled "Migration. Erinnern. Praktiken des Erzählens und Erinnerns in der Migrationsgesellschaft" on October 24-25 at the University of Zürich, Manuel Peters and Miriam friz Trzeciak will take part in the panel discussion "Erinnern und Vergessen (machen): Ein Forschungsgespräch" (Remembering and Forgetting - a research talk)

Prof. Dr. Heike Radvan will participate in a panel discussion entitled "Strengthen Democracy! Historical Education in Times of Political Polarisation". The panel discussion will be held in German and is part of the programme of the 16th Berlin-Brandenburgisches Forum für zeitgeschichtliche Bildung ( Berlin-Brandenburg forum for historical education ).

BTU Cottbus' Faculty 4 Research Training Group cordially invites everyone to the lecture series "30 Jahre friedliche Revolution - ein kritischer Rückblick". The lecture series will be held in German. They are organized by Prof. Dr. Birgit Behrensen, Prof. Dr. Heike Radvan and the Institute for Social Work's faculty council

The event is concerned with terms such as democratic, neutrality or freedom of expression. How do right-wing populist (institutional) players try to exploit those? To discuss this and more, we want to get in touch with people from civil society, politics, academia, and administration. (The event will be held in German)
