The Welcome Centre is the central point of contact for international researchers and supports you and your family in all non-academic and practical matters relating to your work at BTU and your life in Cottbus and Senftenberg.

To support you during challenging phases of your doctoral studies, a comprehensive and personalised counselling services is offered - whether you need help dealing with stressful situations or time management.

Pursuing a doctorate during pregnancy, parenthood or caring for relatives? A wide range of services are available to you:

• Parent-child rooms and nappy-changing facilities
• Children's corners in the libraries and canteens
• Play backpacks
• Care counselling

The Equal Opportunities Office is a point of contact for all members of the university community. It offers support, advice and assistance in cases relating to, among other things, the following:

• Sexual discrimination, harassment and violence, as well as difficulties in the study and work environment
• Bullying and stalking
• Financial support for female scientists

The representation for people with disabilities supports the integration of employees with disabilities or chronic illnesses, represents their interests and provides them with advice and assistance.

• Monitoring the fulfilment of legal requirements and principles
• Supporting applications for preventive measures
• Support with applications for the asessment of disability

With its action plan against (extreme) right-wing influence, the BTU is actively positioning itself against right-wing extremism and discrimination. The Monitoring Center is part of the implementation of the action plan. It documents incidents of (extreme) right-wing influence and discrimination, explains the background and supports those affected.
