BTU Account

When you are enrolled or employed at BTU, a BTU account is automatically generated for you. With your BTU account, you have access to the following services:

  • BTU portals
  • BTU mail
  • Cloud services
  • Library account
  • BTU Campus App
  • Internet access: LAN and WLAN in public areas of the BTU
  • VPN client
  • Faculty computer pools
  • Computer workstations at all three library locations

The BTU account must be activated by you personally!

You will receive the activation code by post or with your enrolment documents. Alternatively, you will receive it in the myBTU portal (please note: the code is only available here for ten days). Activate the BTU account online.
Please keep the activation code! If your account needs to be reset (forgotten password or similar), you will need the code to reactivate it.

BTU Webmail

Your BTU email address is the official channel of communication between you and BTU. Information from central institutions, such as the library, student services and continuing education, will be sent to you via this address. Please check this address regularly or forward emails to your personal account.

VPN Service

Using the VPN service "Cisco Secure Client", it is possible to assign a BTU-internal network address to the PC of BTU members. Among other things, this enables

  • Access to internal BTU services
  • Literature research that would otherwise only be possible from the BTU campus network
  • Library and Theses Department
  • Literature, media and workstations

Campus App

The BTU Campus App brings together all the important information about the BTU in one place, making it a great companion. It provides mobile access to information and online functions of the university. Amongst others, you have access to the following functions:

  • Webmail
  • News and events relating to the BTU
  • Moodle learning platform
  • Appointment and semester schedules
  • Media portal
  • Library services
  • People search
  • Campus maps
  • Public transport timetables
  • Canteen plans

Software and Licences

BTU offers a wide range of software and licence agreements for students and employees, e.g.

  • Statistics programmes
  • Graphics programmes
  • Plagiarism detection software

Multimedia Center

The BTU Multimedia Center acts as a competence and service centre supporting digitisation in teaching and has created a comprehensive range of central services for BTU staff and students. In addition to a wide range of continuing education courses and media didactics consulting, you also have access to internal and external e-tools, e.g.:

  • Moodle learning platform
  • Conference systems
  • BTU.HAWKI platform
  • Image portal
  • Media portal

Moodle learning platform

The moodle learning management system supports face-to-face and online seminars, continuing education programmes and projects for students and teaching staff. The eLearning team offers fast technical support and extensive counselling and training services for teaching and learning scenarios.
