IBK – Institute of History of Art and Architecture

The Institute of History of Art and Architecture IBK is part of the Faculty 6 for Architecture, Civil
engineering and Urban Planning and represents a unique German humanities teaching and research network. Its seven professorships in Architecture and Visualization, History of Architecture, History of Building Technology, Architectural Conservation, Cultural Management, and History of Art, as well as the field of study Heritage Management work out the historical-theoretical dimension of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Urban Planning in best competence and put it up for discussion again and again in the topicality of architectural events.

You will find the IBK and the affiliated chairs on the first floor of the teaching buildings LG 2A and 2B.

The IBK has its own research library, which is also open to BTU students. The library of the institute is located in the basement of LG 2D.
