GRS Online Workshop on AI and Academic Writing in the Summer Semester 2026

In this English-language online workshop, BTU doctoral and postdoctoral researchers will receive a practical introduction to using AI tools for research and academic writing, including opportunities, limitations, and ethical considerations.

On 9 June 2026, the Graduate Research School (GRS) will offer an online workshop on »Introduction to AI and Academic Writing: Navigating Opportunities and Challenges«. This workshop is open to doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from all BTU departments who would like to explore the use of AI in research and academic writing in a well-informed and reflective manner.

It focuses on the practical use of ChatGPT and prompt engineering, as well as other AI tools that can support literature searching, research workflows, and academic writing. In addition to exploring potential applications, such as structuring texts, brainstorming, and language editing, the workshop will also address challenges and risks. Topics include copyright, transparency, and the authenticity of research results. Interactive elements, such as case studies, group work, and discussions, provide opportunities for hands-on practice and exchange.
