International

Internationality in teaching and studies is one of the strengths of the Faculty of Environmental and Natural Sciences. The faculty played a pioneering role in establishing the first international degree programmes at the BTU in 1998 (Bachelor ERM) and 1999 (Master ERM). This international character is reflected in the compulsory teaching language of English, the compulsory semester abroad in the Bachelor's programme ERM (a unique feature in Germany), the networks of partner universities of ERM and EURO Hydroinformatics, the introduction of DD in ERM Master's with UTP in Colombia, and efforts to establish further double and joint degree programmes with France, Canada, Pakistan, India, Poland and Mexico within the framework of ERASMUS Mundus. In addition, there are international topics that are introduced by internationally oriented visiting professors and lecturers.
The international Master's programme in Biotechnology at the Senftenberg campus was established at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences in 2003 and successfully transferred to the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. To strengthen the concept of internationalisation, a new international Bachelor's programme, Life Science and International Health, is being developed at the Senftenberg campus and is expected to be introduced in the 2024/2025 winter semester.
