The faculty offers a rare combination of Environmental Sciences and Process Engineering, which is reflected in the wide range of study programmes. Due to the growing environmental awareness in industry and business, the demand for competent specialists is increasing. The faculty offers very good study conditions to achieve this competence.

Environmental Engineering is an interdisciplinary, integrative and open engineering discipline whose approach to action is the preservation and development of human living and production spaces.

Students learn about the development of alternative energy sources, the clean and environmentally friendly production of chemical products, building materials, glass, fuel and other energy sources, the development of new processes for the utilisation of household waste and production waste.

The "Land Use and Water Management" study programme, which is unique at a German university to date, aims to train a fundamentally new type of engineer or manager for rural areas.

Graduates of the English-language "Environmental and Resource Management" study programme should be able to manage, evaluate and monitor technological, economic and infrastructure-defining processes from the perspective of integrative environmental and resource protection.
