Faculty council
The Faculty Council is the highest body of academic self-administration at faculty level in higher education institutions. It supervises the dean in the fulfilment of his or her duties.
Composition
It consists of six elected members from the group of university teachers, two members from the group of academic staff, one other member of staff and two students.
Tasks
- the enactment of statutes, examination and study regulations
- the enactment of doctoral and postdoctoral regulations
- participation in and decision-making on the structural and development planning of the faculty
- participation in the evaluation and coordination of teaching, research and academic services in the faculty
- the election and dismissal of the dean, vice-deans and deans of studies
- Proposing to the dean that the president be asked to award an adjunct professorship or appoint an honorary professor
- Deciding on the awarding of honorary doctorates in accordance with the doctoral regulations
- Deciding on the establishment and dissolution of faculty institutions and proposing their
