Question and answer session with the e-learning team of the Multimedia Center on 22.07.2020

Prior to this event, the following questions and topics were collected and will be covered in the video:

  • Is there an online (professional) exam system in Moodle? How does it work? What can be implemented with it? What kind of questions can be asked? Only multiple choice or also calculus questions? How does it work with uploading the answers at the end of the exam time? Is there any chance to minimize or avoid cheating?
  • How can a typical exam be mapped online?
  • What safeguards can be put in place to prevent or detect cheating? How can students be authenticated in video transmissions?
  • Is a time-zone-spanning examination at all reasonable for the examined? What solutions are there, if any, to mitigate such problems?
  • How can laboratory exercises be designed online in order to convey the essential aspects and at the same time methodological competence to the students despite their local absence?
  • What technical tools are needed for a hybrid form of teaching (face-to-face lectures with live streaming and/or video recording for asynchronous participation in lectures)?
  • Which communication channels of Moodle have proven to be particularly suitable for exchange? How can teaching and learning success be monitored?
  • Regarding Webex: Starting a recording is no problem, but how to choose which screen to record? In a test run, the participant who was currently speaking was always saved. For recording a lecture, only the instructor and the shared screen with presentation material should be recorded.
