Andreas Huber

Andreas Huber studied Sociology at the Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg from 1999 to 2006, specialising in European social science research and methods of empirical social research. As part of his studies, he also spent a year each at the Universidad Deusto Bilbao (Spain) and in Bordeaux and Aix-en-Provence (France). Following his studies, Andreas Huber was initially employed for 9 months at the Chair of European Social Science Research at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg before working as a research assistant at the European Institute for Energy Research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology from 2007 until the end of 2021. In this context, he was involved in numerous publicly (EU/ADEME/MTE/BMBF) and privately funded projects dealing with, among other things, the processes of energy renovations, intervention strategies to change energy-intensive household practices, thecarbon footprint of lifestyle types, local energy transition processes or the ecological and socio-spatial change processes of strongly infrastructurally characterised river basins.
After a 10-month parental leave, he has been working as a project assistant in the WIRinRegionen project at the Chair of Technical and Environmental Sociology at BTU Cottbus - Senftenberg since December 2022. In his dissertation project at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Mr Huber is investigating the potential normalisation of neighbourhood sharing practices.
