BTU presents its dual study programs

At the same time, participants can get to know companies that offer dual study places and talk to the practice partners.

The dovetailing of theory and practice, remuneration from the company for the entire duration of the course and an almost seamless transition into a career are just some of the advantages offered by the co-op program. Dual study is also possible here in the region. BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg has expanded its range of study options in this area and now offers dual study options in the study programmes Civil Engineering, Business Aministration, Electrical Engineering, Lightweight Construction and Materials Technology, Mechanical Enginering, Mathematics, Medical Technology, Business Administration and Engineering and Economathematics.

New among these are the dual Bachelor's degree courses in Mathematics and Economathematics introduced in the current winter semester. Mathematics students can choose numerous modules from the field of Computer Science, among others. As a result, dual graduates also have excellent professional and career prospects in the IT field. The first dual Master's courses in Mechanical Engineering and in the Lightweight Construction & Materials Technology study programme are also new.

Background
The co-op programme is enjoying great and steadily growing popularity. More than 250 employers are available as cooperation partners for the co-op programme. The majority of companies are from the region. Currently, 62 dual work placements are already being offered for the winter semester 2024/25, and experience shows that this number will triple in the coming weeks. BTU offers both the practice-integrated and the training-integrated dual model: In the co-op programme with integrated practical vocational training, a Bachelor's or Master's degree is combined with numerous practical placements at the "learning location company"; in the training-integrated model, students also complete vocational training recognized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce or Chamber of Crafts during the course of their Bachelor's degree.
