Workshop Understanding German Culture and Business Etiquette

Studying or working abroad is one of the most intensive phases in a person’s life. Apart from different academic perspectives, there is a new culture to discover. This short and intensive workshop will help international students and academic staff to gain a better understanding of German culture and the academic life in German universities.

In an entertaining and informative way, intercultural trainer Wolfgang Jockusch from BAMIK will introduce the participants to the essentials of business and academic etiquette in Germany. There will be a particular focus on different hierarchical perceptions and its consequences on the interaction between students and professors and other academic staff. We will also compare the way in which teams cooperate in Germany as well as expectations towards team members with those in other cultures.
